Happy Wheels has arrived just as the alarming, blasphemous demise of Flash draws near. That was a tense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t kept you from getting a good night’s sleep. If you weren’t aware that the game was in development, here’s some exciting news: this is the game’s first public release. Please bear with us as we work to address any remaining bugs.
Although I still prefer Flash, I appreciate this version’s excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, the mobile version does not include on-screen controls, but this feature will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone right now, a Bluetooth keyboard works very well.
While I previously mentioned that the game runs at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience slight slowdowns at that rate. Fortunately, a setting allows you to adjust this, and I may host a separate 60Hz version for users with high-performance CPUs. Overall, Happy Wheels JS aims to be a faithful recreation of the original, preserving its design and gameplay. The user database, levels, and replays remain unchanged since the initial release. The only thing that’s disappeared is the impending doom of the universe’s end.
